Sunday November 1st at around 2pm, my kids were outside playing. We live on Rt. 272 about a mile or so from Little Britain store. They spotted 2 dogs roaming around in the cornfield next to our house. We tied the dogs up in our backyard so they wouldn't get run over by a speeding car. Myself and my husband spent the next 1 1/2 hours going to almost every house within a 5 mile radius looking for the owners to these two over-grown puppies. Noone seems to know where they came from or recall anyone in our area owning this particular breed of dog. So, being the animal lovers we are, they slept in our room last night. We took one of them down to the vet next to Wawa earlier today (Monday) to check for a microchip and unfortunately, nothing. We have asked and posted fliers at every store, asked countless neighbors....nothing. Did someone drop these poor defenseless dogs off in the middle of nowhere to fend for themselves? I called the humane league in Lancaster but I really don't want to abandon them there like their thoughtless owners apparently did. I have them posted in the lost and found section, I will give it until Wed. and if I don't find out who these dogs belong to, they will be posted in the free to good home section of Craigslist. I would strongly prefer they stay together. If these were my dogs, I would not sleep until I found them. Dog's aren't objects to be discarded when we no longer need them, they are beautiful living creatures. I sincerely hope that their rightful owners come forward and reclaim these beauties. If not, I will find a suitable home for them and we will keep them safe here until we do. If you know anyone who is suddenly missing 2 dogs, please contact me. We have checked from Kreider's market to Wawa to Little Britain store. The dogs would have had to have come from somewhere in that vicinity. I don't want to be too descriptive of the dogs for fear someone will say they belong to them when they don't and then they never get back home. I will say they are from the same litter, same breed of dog, both female. They had shock collars on, maybe they escaped from a fencing system and were scared to return b/c they knew they would be shocked? Maybe someone just abandoned them. I don't know. But please contact me with any info you may have on anyone who may be missing two of the same breed dog. Thank you. 484-639-1125 Marie or 717-824-9593 Jim. campbell7179@yahoo.com
