This is a 5” CRT tube, New-In-Box, that was used in various Oscilloscopes in the 1940’s. These include Precision ES-500 & ES-550B, Tektronix 511, DuMont 304H, Eico 425 and Heath O-8 at a minimum.
It is an Army/Navy Military Spec Tube from WW2 era, signified by the “JAN” designation. The “CRC” designation signifies that it was manufactured by RCA.
I can confirm it is NIB, as I opened the box to determine what tube was in it, since the outer labeling does not have that information. Most likely this CRT was manufactured in the RCA Lancaster, PA facility.
It is being sold As-Is, no Returns, since I do not have any way to test this. The filament does test good, 2.2 ohms cold resistance.
The box is 20”L x 6”W x 5-½”D.
$50.00 Cash. Pickup in Lancaster, PA or delivery to Kutztown Renninger’s Spring Radio Meet, Friday or Saturday, May 8 or 9. I prefer these two options, however I will ship at Buyer’s risk & cost, if required. If it is to be shipped, additional packing would be added inside the existing box, and this would be put inside another larger box, with bubble pack in-between, unless Buyer specifies differently, via local UPS. Current weight, without the additional packing is 2 pounds 10 ounces.
