PATIENT ACCESS ASSOCIATE

RESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
• Promotes a positive image of RGI and providing quality service to customers
• Operates telephone system console to facilitate communications
• Schedules patients for office visits, consultations, procedures
• Responds to all emergency calls expeditiously and in a calm and courteous manner
• Maintaining efficiently and accurately the multi-communications made in the office
• Assumes the role of patient advocate and company representative
• Making every effort to remain a flexible, cooperative, and supportive member of the RGI office staff

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Education: Accredited high school diploma
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions
• Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pause and emphasis
• Computer skills and average typing speed
• Strong people skills
• High level of telephone skills with good communication ability
• Warm and friendly demeanor

DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Keeps all patient information, practice information, and staff information strictly confidential
• Performs routine work under general supervision
• Follows established procedures, referring all new or unusual questions/concerns to Team Lead or Manager
• Acts as patient advocate, ensuring a setting that protects the rights of the patient and provides an atmosphere that does not compromise the patient’s physical or mental well-being, safety, or dignity
• Demonstrates knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, and Fire Safety measures
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with established policies and procedures
• Attends all required meetings
• Continuously performs the same type of work for extended periods of time according to set procedures, sequences, and pace
• Accurately takes phone calls and messages from patients, doctors, hospitals, etc., and directing them to proper area orally or through electronic medical records system
• Performs a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss or efficiency or composure
• Exchanges information with others clearly and concisely
• Pages providers and staff as needed
• Schedules appointments for office visits, consultations, procedures, and follow internal referral reports
• Contacts, schedules appointments and tracks recall office patients
• Contacts, schedules appointments and tracks for hospital follow up patients
• Enters information into EMR system concerning patient demographics and documentation
• Performs under stressful conditions, emergent, critical, and/or unusual situations
• Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks as required by the practice and management

HOURS:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
