Teachers are the most important part of our business. Lead Teachers are responsible for the care, upkeep, and maintenance of their classroom, as well as to create and implement a lesson plan supporting the prescribed curriculum. Successful Lead Teachers will maintain a safe and clean environment for their children to learn the skills necessary to prepare them for the next level of development.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Facilitate lesson plans, activities, and overall supervision for all children in classroom.
Provide direction and support to assistant teacher
Provide personalized one-on-one attention and care for all children
Ensure all state regulated standards for care and safety are enforced at all times
Effectively communicate with families of children to keep them updated on activities and upcoming events within the classroom.
Maintain complete and accurate records of all activities throughout the day.
Provide feedback to lead teachers for semi-annual assessment on the progress of each enrolled child.
Provide immediate and appropriate first-aid for injured children, documenting any incidents requiring attention appropriately.
Serve and facilitate family-style mealtime, encouraging proper manners, hygiene, and clean-up routines with children through example and direction.
Ensure meal area is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each meal, including washing dishes as necessary.
Complete and document regular cleaning activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
CDA Certificate preferred
At least one year previous experience in a child care center required
At least 2500 documented hours working with children required
Strong written and spoken communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
As an employee with close contact to children, we are required to collect and maintain the following documents from every staff member, regardless of their rank or position:
Clearances from the PA State Police, FBI, and DHS,
Proof of education in form of degree or transcript,
Two reference letters speaking to your character,
Documentation proving 2500 hours of experience with children,
Recent (within 6 months of hire) physical and negative TB test (within 24 months of hire)
