These are the original hostas from which all those that smell wonderful are descended. Also known as August Lily. I will separate clumps off of one of my mother plants that will have multiple shoots and a healthy root mass in each clump. They are $24 each. Can be used as a specimen planting or planted en mass as a border. Grow 2-3 feet tall.
These are very hard to find and super expensive when you do find them. They run at least $10 plus shipping for a tiny tender root cutting (which will not bloom for at least 4 years) when you mail order them.
Can easily tolerate ( and actually prefer) full sun and heat. Lily-like deeply, wonderfully fragranced flowers on spikes in late summer--kind of like tuber rose and gardenia all at once. Once you smell it you will never forget it. Multiple huge single flowers per stalk are 6 inches long each.
