😙Adorable Pets that look like stuffed animals come alive!
The Foo Foo dogs of the chicken world, without the yappy ankle biting!

💕Happy to Snuggle and sit on your lap, these silkies have been bred to be sweet companions for you and your family!

😁Our Silkies make Wonderful Pets! They're low maintenance and low energy, have sweet temperaments, and because they're a mini chicken breed, they require less space, consume less feed, and are quieter than larger breeds.

💭Our Silkies are great as a starter chicken for people new to chickens, or perfect for those already set with layer breeds and want something extra special to enjoy!

🍳Not just a great pet, but also a breakfast maker! Silkies produce a satisfying amount of eggs, around 180 per year. The egg size is a little smaller than traditional layer breeds, but large enough to enjoy during mealtime!

🥬They have started off well eating a very healthy feed. We specifically mix and ferment various healthy whole grains, vitamins and minerals that offer protein and a nutrient dense meal to boost our Silkies health!

➡These happy birds are ready for their next adventure with their new families!

We spend a lot of time with each bird and watch behavior, temperament, health, and look for the traits specific for the breed to ensure they stay close to the Standard of Perfection for the breed. That includes proper form, feathering, size, and the things I mentioned above.

Silkies are a designer breed, and we put a lot of effort into our breeding program to keep them close to the silkie standard. We handle them regularly so we can offer quality pets for families, and we raise them for 6+ months so they're guaranteed Hens, and ready to lay eggs. All of this reflects price.

We have never had any health issues within our silkie flocks. We do health checks on them daily. Every bird we have is interacted with on a daily basis, so we are confident they're in great health.

DETAILS ABOUT OUR SILKIES

Our focus is in producing Beautiful Happy Snuggle Buddies that make wonderful pets! They are handled daily to get them started for their futures with new families, and eat very healthy to start them off well. We specifically mix and ferment various healthy Non-Gmo whole grains, vitamins and minerals, that offer protein and a nutrient dense meal to boost our Silkies health! We also raise them for 5+ months so they're guaranteed Hens, and ready to lay eggs. All of this reflects price.

Our Silkies all have sweet temperaments, and have plenty of fluff. We selectively breed for beautiful, sweet tempered silkies that make wonderful egg laying pets.

At The Dinosaur Omelette we Focus on;

• Health through specifically selected ingredients of Non-Gmo whole grains, vitamins and nutrients that are fermented and made into a nutrient dense probiotic daily meal.

• Regular physical examinations of each bird for physical form, health, temperament and personality development

• Specific breeding program focused on staying close to the Standard of Perfection for the breed; proper form in appearance and size, disposition, and feathering. And periodically intentionally bringing in new bloodlines to maintain proper genetics.

• Daily handling and holding of each bird to encourage and nuture a "Feather baby" disposition so each bird can be enjoyed as a future family Pet.

We are a focused small scale breeder that pays close attention to the genetics of our flock, making sure to keep birds that show the true qualities of the breed such as; proper size, temperament, production in eggs, overall proportions and visual details of the breed. And especially making sure to keep genetic defects out.

Since we are a small focused hatchery, our birds reflect the quality of breeding and effort we maintain in our program through the satisfying overall result seen in each bird, and our prices reflect this effort and detail.

Low quality birds often come from Hatchery stock, or breeders that do not strictly regulate their breeding program. Hatchery stock are birds that come from larger facilities that tend to focus on quantity rather than quality.

Since their goal is to fulfill many customer orders, the focus isn't in keeping quality birds that maintain the specific genetic lines — keeping close to the Standard of Perfection for the breed.

Typically, what happens is the chicken breed will start getting smaller in size, and genetic variances pop-up like; changes in color, the shape of the bird, poor or unfriendly temperament. Defects can be seen in specific parts of the body, and organs, because there's not enough attention put into maintaining proper genetic makeup of the breeding flocks.
