Job Summary:

ST Genetics is a worldwide leader in livestock reproduction and other services for cattle, horses, deer and swine. These services include sex sorted semen, embryo production, and beef bull, heifer development and milk production. ST Genetics is currently seeking labor for milking dairy cattle.

The position of the Dairy Milker will be a full-time position, and will require you to work hands on with our dairy cattle. Applicant will preferably have experience in dairy production and milking, handling larger livestock, and must be able to lift 50+ pounds. The job duties of the Dairy Milker include close work with our dairy cattle, cleaning and maintenance of barns, and working with various farm or dairy equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and communicated with all team members in professional manner.
Prepare milking equipment and bulk tank for milking.
Bring in cows for milking or help other employees bring in cows if needed or requested.
Follow recommended pre-milking preparation of cattle before milking.
Follow all safety and preparation protocols for milking dairy cattle.
Clean the milking parlor, holding area and bulk tank room
Operate all milking equipment as recommended by the manager and factory specifications
After milking, be sure all machinery and sanitation procedures are followed according to manufacturer's specification

Physical Demands:

Standing for long periods of time.
lift, carry, push, and / or pull 50+ lbs. or more
Lift overhead 20lbs or more.
Bend and / or stoop repetitively throughout out shift
Working with live animals in a farm environment

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Work in a self-directed manner
Able to follow written and oral directions
Able to work in a cold, damp, hot and humid environment
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Preferred at least 1 to 2 years of experience
