Alnico IV is the sweet spot between Alnico II and Alnico V. It’s got the fuller mids of II without the loose bottom, and the punch/dynamics of V without the harsh highs and empty mids.
Polished sounds a little more neutral while roughcast has slightly more mids and less highs.
