Comfortable Verythin body balances great tone and feel
A mere 1.25" thick, the Verythin body delivers a perfect balance of hollowbody vibe and solidbody resonance. A long spruce center block ensures that you get plenty of sustain, whereas classic F holes provide acoustic breathing room and a cool vintage look. Double cutaways provide you with limitless access to the fretboard, and although the Verythin body keeps the Contemporary Verythin Guitar from weighing down your shoulder, it's still broad enough to be comfortable to play sitting down.

Versatile tonality with humbucking pickups
The Hofner Contemporary Verythin Guitar's humbucking pickups have the tones you need for any gig. From your late night jazz gigs at the club to your Top 40 rock gig at the bar, this axe has the tones you need. A pair of volume and tone knobs let you sculpt the perfect mix of sounds at a moments notice. Not only does this axe sound great, it looks great too.
'There is a spruce center block, so they have the darker and more subdued tone of a typical semi-solid. They have something of a classic voicing, in a ‘Pat. No’ sort of way, with good articulation, strong mids and moderate power. Played clean, you get a nasal quack off the bridge and a more rounded and vocal tone from the neck. This eases into a thick, clear and slightly aggressive voicing as the amp is turned up. In other words, it’s a very creditable ES-335-type guitar.'

I find the very thin body more resistant to feedback at higher volumes with gain than many hollow bodies; it has less low end woof than a bigger full hollow. It's also less of an arm full to hold. It's clean; non smoking owners.

I normally prefer chunky, fat necks. Bought this guy after playing a German friend's CT. The neck is not narrow or thick. Nice shoulders; a very comfortable grip. It seems to go on forever. I can play play chords in tune at the 15th fret! It is indeed very thin; body is 1 3/16" deep. The lower bout is 16" wide. Action is low; 4 or 5 64"s at the 12th fret. I thought the fretboard markings would be confusing; they are not. I easily got used to them, and missed them on other guitars.
